Environmental Regulatory Update

There are a number of proposed EPA and OSHA regulatory actions that effective metal casting facilities that the AFS 10E and 10F committees are closely monitoring. Some, if adopted, could result in major changes to material handling and dust collection. Our speaker will provide a summary of the proposals and what the AFS is doing to block or modify these actions.

Jim Maloney

Exec. Vice President,

J. Carpenter Environmental, LLC

Jim Maloney oversees sales and marketing for J Carpenter Environmental, which supplies waste treatment and pollution control products and advice to: the metal casting industry, secondary smelters, environmental remediation firms, and the industrial sand market.

Throughout his career, Jim has worked with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Air Pollution Division where he served as one of the staff liaisons to the Illinois legislature, the Illinois Pollution Control Board. He also has worked for Heritage Environmental Services and RMT Environmental consulting company, before joining J. Carpenter Environmental in 2006.

 

Jim has spent the majority of his career in various sales and operations roles for environmental service companies and has experience in a wide range of environmental regulatory matters. He is currently a member of the AFS 10E – Air Quality, and AFS 10 F – Water Quality and Waste Disposal Committees.
